A little bit of Christmas in a birdcage

It wouldn't be unusual to see a cardinal out our kitchen window. I am forever trying to get a good shot of one...but seeing as my camera skills are lacking... along with the fact that there is usually a window between me and the bird...this is by far the best shot  I have been able to get...and it was only this good
due to a little boost in picmonkey!

today...as I was putzin...
and by putzin I mean moving slow
and getting much of nothing accomplished...
but enjoying every minute of it none the less.

The birdcage had been sitting empty in my foyer for a couple of days...it sits on my front porch during the summer with a geranium in it...but I had brought it in and left it sitting in the foyer.
Today, when I opened one of my Christmas totes...
look what flew out...
Good thing I had a bird cage handy!

and this evening...

By them shall the fowls of the heaven have their habitation, which sing among the branches.

At Vase Value

This morning as I stalked my regular blogs...
I saw that is was time for
Debbiedoo's Copy Cat Party
Darn!
 I didn't have anything ready...
 or even in mind...
and I had a list a mile long of things I wanted to get accomplished today...
so I just kind of forgot about it...
 and went about my business.

Then...while in my creative junk space...looking for a stencil...I happened upon this...

Check out the date on this magazine

I said to myself...
"Self" (as I thumbed through the pages) you really need to clean out this room...and get rid of some of these old magazines"

Then I saw this....

I knew I was hanging onto these for a reason...
today is the reason!
I can do this...I can Copy Cat this!

Yes...it's the kitchen window...again
And yes I have posted many a post looking though this window...and last time I went to the copy cat party I did this window! You can see that  here

BUT...

I'm inspired...

I can go to the party!!

Without thinking...

without leaving the house...
(Thank you hubby for bringing me
 flowers again yesterday!)

without buying a thing...
(thank you self, for picking up all of those
cool little jars at yard sales last summer!)

I can copy this...
and go to Debbiedoo's party!
Yeah!!!

so...
here is my version...

all 247 pictures...

I just had to take one at night...cause I like the color against the black of night

do you see my little visitor?

Here, lets get a little closer...

See that beautiful butterfly...
trying to get to my flowers!

Oh...what?
it's a moth?
trying to get to the light...
whatever...

Here they are again...side by side

Hope you enjoy my copy cat spring window...as much as I do...and what fun I had getting it together!

Thanks Debbie!

A Spring Vignette

Springing on up in here!

Kroger had these bee-U-tiful tulips the other day...and I had to get some! I love tulips...and these are such a pretty color! I wanted to make a little springtime vignette for the kitchen table...

So I grabbed my cute little silver birds...who will flitter and flutter into each and every season with me...cause I love em that much...

This one is nestled in some mossy rocks.....

Don't you love how he picks up the pinks and the greens from the flowers...and yours truly...twisting and turning as I try and act like a photographer...

I picked up this old silver candlestick at a yard sale years ago. I Threw some moss on it, to give my little friend a post to perch upon...

doesn't he look comfy!

Back in October or November I ordered
some Paperwhite bulbs from a local school fundraiser. I had always wanted to try them indoors. When they came in...I didn't have any potting soil...and just never planted them...but a week or 2 ago, I discovered via somebody's awesome blog, (sorry, but I don't remember who's) that you could actually grow them in rocks and water...which I did have on hand....

I purchased and planted them at the same time...but their not growing at the same rate...but they are so fun to watch...you can almost see them grow!

You probably already knew you could plant them this way...but in case you didn't...and would like to try some yourself...you just put your rocks in your container, set the bulbs on top...add a couple more to stable the bulbs...and then add water just to the bottom of the bulb...easy breezy...and less messy than dirt!

Anyway...I put it all together on a silver tray...and my kitchen table is dressed for spring. I love the combination of the pink, green and shiny silver...LOVE!

Here's a couple more pictures...just because...
I know you're excited for spring too...
and I know...

because a little birdie told me!

Have a great day!

God Bless!
