Weather, Wainscoting and Wishy Washy!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!
I hope you showed... and
were shown some love today!

Here's an update on the weather...seems I've been obsessing about that lately...
I took some pics this morning before work...they pretty much say it all.
 I LOVE SNOW!!...
just in case I haven't made that clear already!

soft and fluffy snow...
 It's just beautiful out...
no wind...
quiet...
calm...

 That's what's going on outside...

here's whats going inside...

UTTER CHAOS!

My husband has been showing his lovin to me in the dining room...

in the form of crown molding...and wainscoting!

So...construction is pretty much done now...

We still need to caulk and paint
and clean...just look as this mess!

Here's a tip...
old vinyl tablecloth's work awesome for drop cloth's! The vinyl (obviously) blocks the paint. the flannel on the back keeps it in place. You can pick them up at yard sale's for virtually nothing...and only 1.00 at the dollar tree...just in case you're interested.

Anyway...here is a pic of the before...
I don't know what I'm keeping...
or what I'm getting rid of.

I have a few ideas about what I want to do in this room...but no definite plans. Discovering blogs has really done a number on me!  I can't seem to make any decisions...basically because where I'm feeling led to go...is pretty much totally different then where I've been. I have never felt so Wishy Washy about anything in my life!

So stay tuned...
I'll keep you posted!

Here are a few inspiration photo's...
...dreaming is free!

SNOW ON ME PINES!

Woke up to some snow this morning!

Mind you it was just a couple of days ago that I took you for a walk in my neighborhood...on those beautiful spring days. The weather changes around here at about the same rate as I change me bloomers!
I'm happy either way!
I always say a good snowfall lifts the spirit
like a beautiful sunny day!

I grabbed my camera and snapped a couple
of pics out my kitchen window.

I'd hoped to have this snow
(and a whole lot more)
way back in the beginning of Dec...when the window was decked for Christmas...
the snow on me pines would have made for a purdy picture!
You can see that here.

So anyway, there really wasn't much...
and yes it was gone by the time I got
home from work this evening,
but it was a beautiful drive into work
with the tree branches lined with snow...
and if only for a moment I had snow on me pines!

Hey little dude....not quite spring after all

So in honor of the snowfall and because I never showed you this adorable picture of my adorable grand babies which I took at Christmas...when there should have been snow, but instead the sun was shining in here as if it were a hot summer day and between that and the oven we actually had to open a window...
Bla...Bla...Bla...

Let's just get to the pic...

A Walk in my neck of the woods!

Welcome to my neck of the woods!

Sometimes, I still can't believe I live in the country!
I grew up in a Detroit suburb. 16 years ago we moved to a small town in Indiana.....for 18 months.

We're still here....

I love Hoosiers...but I will always be a Michigander at heart!

I've been missing my snow...I really love a good snowfall...I am from Michigan after all...but after the last 2 beautiful days...beautiful spring like days...I think I could skip the snow, and I could most definitely handle this for a few months!

It has been so nice to get out and walk...and so I thought I would share some pictures from the last 2 days as I took a walk in my neck of the woods.

This pond is just across the street...it's not ours...but my boys use to fish in it when they were young.

Though I grew up in Michigan...my parents grew up in Arkansas...that's where I spent all of our vacations as a kid. I always loved going there...I'm sure this is where my love for country came from! It's in my bones....in my blood!

Continuing around the pond...here is a look across the way at our house.

The house looks so bare right now...I just recently took the Christmas wreaths down...and I've not put anything back up on the door yet...I need to get going on that.
This unseasonably beautiful weather has got me contemplating all the changes I plan on making once spring is truly here.
I can wait to see all of the flowers blooming!

Some random things you would see as you walk through my neck of the woods

I have scars from crawling through barbed wire fences as a kid down in Arkansas!

Trees...

...ya think?

A horse.........

a potty....

you never know when you're going to need a porta potty on the back 40!

You want to see something magical...walk down this road, on a warm summer night...and their will be soooo many fireflies...it's amazing!....I have never seen anything like it anywhere!!
It looks like thousdands and thousands of white Christmas lights twinkling from the ground to the very tops of the trees, lighting the path like an enchanted garden. It's beautiful! I'll have to remember to collect some in fruit jars with the grandbabies this summer! Oh I can just see their little expressions as they see them light up in the jar.
Catching fireflies in fruit jars...is one of my favorite childhood Arkansas memories.
I don't remember seeing many at all in Michigan.

Lots of farm fields around here.
Come harvest time...they will be full of corn...or soy beans.

A field full of deer....

I can't believe that I forgot to bring my telephoto lense, I couldn't get very close to the deer.
I tried to crop the picture a bit...but they look really blurry now.

I'm not sure if their worried I'm eying them for dinner...
or their eying me for dinner!

No telephoto lense needed here.

And the road back home...........

Thanks for spending this time with me...taking a walk in my neck of the woods!

Sharon

Hot Fudge Ice Cream Bar Dessert

This post is nothing but Deliciousness!!
Chocolatey...Peanut Buttery...Ice Creamy (melty)...DELICIOUSNESS!!

I guarantee it will be a hit!

Hot Fudge Ice Cream Bar Dessert

1 16 oz can chocolate syrup
3/4 cup peanut butter
19 ice cream sandwiches
1 (12oz) frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 cup salted peanuts
Directions:
1. Pour the chocolate syrup into a medium microwave safe bowl and microwave 2 minutes on high.  Do not allow to boil.  Stir peanut butter into hot chocolate until smooth.  Allow to cool to room temperature.
2.  Line the bottom of a 9x13 inch dish with a layer of ice cream sandwiches  Spread half the whipped topping over the sandwiches.  Spoon half the chocolate mixture over that.  Top with half the peanuts.  repeat layers.  freeze until firm, 1 hour.  cut into squares to serve.

Enjoy!

P.S. Dollop of cool whip on top is totally unnecessary...unless you are trying to disguise the fact that your extra freezer, does not keep things totally frozen...and your dessert is not looking that great due to that... along with excessive melting... while left out the kitchen counter to long...when you decide at the last minute...that it would be a good idea to share this recipe in blog land...and have to round up all your camera supplies!
